Review

Disclaimer: I am a Lone Peak Overland ambassador, but the below represents my sole opinion.

I was able to try the prototype version and here is my review of the Lone Peak Camper.

First of all the overall finish and quality is great and similar in my opinion to campers that are twice the price.

When open and going inside the Major difference with a other campers is the interior space. It’s huge and very livable thanks to the tent design. I absolutely love the way the tent pushes out which gives a lot more room than a tent that inclines toward the inside of the bed. Also the large space between the bed and the back is super nice. This is thanks to the extra overhang of the camper. Lastly, the bed that moves up and out of the way on gas struts is a game changer for me vs other similar campers where you always have to remove pieces of the bed.
Speaking of interior space, as a 6’6” person I can’t fit on the bed of most campers I tried or roof top tents because my feet press against the top of the camper at the hinge section. Here there no issue because the bed can slide backward.

The mattress is the most comfortable I have tried of any tent and camper, period. A bonus is it also lets you store sleeping bags on top.

The Gear Vault is a must in my opinion. It makes essentials easy to reach from outside and it’s a very clever feature. The fact that it can slide is nice.

The drop down tables that act as a desk are also well designed and really useful.

The interior lighting system is also very well done, and you can control it with an app.

Having a small ladder inside to crawl into the bed is nice for people with mobility issues, but unnecessary for me, I’ll just remove it to save weight. It also nicely packs nicely below the bed if you need to use it from time to time.

The diesel heater passthrough is very sleek and a must if camping in winter. So is the roof fan. I have had a lot of condensation issues in my current roof top tent setup so this should solve the problem.

Lastly, if you have had a pop-up camper and a truck before you know that dust intrusion is a big issue. It’s mostly because the pressure outside is greater than inside the camper when driving, which attracts dust inside. To alleviate this, Lone Peak created the Dust Killer which is a vent with an integrated filter that increases the pressure in the bed. Neat idea!

Overall, it really is a mix of the best features from existing campers, with a few additional innovative features and more interior space. For those reasons, it would be my first pick if all were are the same price.

The fact that the Lone Peak Camper is significantly cheaper than the competition is even better.
